God Which Is Always Good, at times You seem illusive to us, or at least removed from us as we face grief, worry, and pain. As we pray for cures, You seem to be working for something else. How wonderful it would be if we could trick ourselves into believing that you controlled it all. But then, like Jesus and Simon’s mother-in-law, You make known to us Creative Transformation. You take our hands and remind us that what goes down also will come up, that You are working in all things for healing, if not curing, that from all deaths — great and small — rises new life, transformed by our creative communion in You.
So, Igniting Spark, we bring to you our concerns of physical and mental health, our worries about jobs and wellbeing, about the environmental and political health of our nation and our world, we bring even our secret worries into this community of peace and we take the risk of naming them here where transformation is always at work. We learn from and teach one another, we support one another, we model trust, hope, and realism with one another, and within these indefatigable bonds of community and respect, we see how very strong You and we truly are. May we always be open to the Creative Transformation which is Your dream for all that lives and for all that dies. This is our prayer in the name of Peace. Amen.
